RISK Legacy XIII

Another RISK Legacy game played, the last one for 2017.
This game Kobe started with the Enclave of the Bear in Mongolia, Hannes with Khan Industries in Eastern Australia, Tarek with the Mutants in Chili, Leander with the Aliens in South East Asia and me with Die Mechaniker in  Iceland.
Because Kobe, Leander and Hannes where situated very near to each other, the battle was on immediately with Kobe trying to take Leander's HQ, followed by Hannes taking Kobe's and Leanders HQ. Because he now had 3 resource cards (2 from the draw cards and 1 from the territory he conquered) he was in an excellent position to win (you can buy a red star token with 4 resource cards). 
We could not let this happen of course, so Leander (respawning) took Hannes' HQ, followed by me taking Hannes and Kobe's HQ destroying both of them and gaining Leander's cards. Which put me in the same situation Hannes was in earlier (only with 5 resource cards). Through some Event Cards I gained extra troops and that triggered the rest to put me down, Leander took away my HQ in Iceland (with the help of another Event Card) and the others banished me to Australia (which I would never leave).
In the mean time Tarek received 2 free red star tokens because no human faction had a continent bonus (another Event Card, 2 times even). Because of all the fighting the board was relatively cleaned up and Tarek being in a corner of the map was left alone, he took the opportunity to take Leanders HQ in South East Asia winning the game for the third time.
Because it's been some time since the last changes in the game, I decided to open the last closed envelope (do not ever open). In this envelope are 6 new Event Cards, which we decided not to read, just for the top one that revealed that through an epidemic territories where going to be infected, troops and territory cards destroyed.
