A mini project (widwed131217)

Clearly - not one of my own.

Since our local camera club worked on then and now images for our 2018 calendar, I have developed an interest in the history of the village.   A recent change is the opening of the pharmacy, in the building behind the group of people next to the signpost in this old image. The building has been an ironmongers and a bank.  It was the last bank in the village until it closed a couple of years ago.

The next building along was a garage and filling station, it closed when having the fuel pipes running over the pavement on long swinging arms stopped. 

I am guessing this image dates from, the early 60s? If anyone has any ideas based on the cars or clothes please feel free to leave a comment. 

The idea for the project is to have a set of photographs, to go in the pharmacy,  from the past along with one from this year with the new shop front.  Getting that without too many parked cars is going to be a challenge :-)
