Wet Eschscholzia californica
Basically a wet California poppy.
I like the angle and perspective of this and a few rain drops don't do it any harm either. The colour is fairly spectacular as well, wonderfully bright on a miserable day.
Missed my camera for the first time really today. The birds have been quiet around the garden for a while, I assume they found sources of food elsewhere. Today they were back and in amongst the pigeons we had blue tits, great tits and coal tits as well as a pair of nuthatch and a greater spotted woodpecker. I have just realised that there haven't been any magpies and no jackdaws and the young jay hasn't been around either; I wonder if there is a connection.
Watching the birds made a good break, now back to the job hunting.
