A house with a view...

Hi.

We took a short detour before our main hike of the day and found ourselves admiring this view. On the right, arid mountains made of a yellow and light emerald-green colour (Like oxidized copper). On the left, the deep green of the treetops at the Los Padres National Forrest, and in the middle of these two distinct landscapes, there is a lake in the distance.  

The structure used to be a house built in the early XXth century in an area that is now a National Forrest. The house burnt down during a forest fire in the 40's. Imagine living here and waking up to the magnificent views... sigh.

Later that day we went on a proper hike and then drove home. Little did we know that that night a forest fire would spark in an area we drove past and that it would extend north in the following days towards the location of the second hiking site.
