Pohutukawa Tree

known as the New Zealand Christmas tree.  Pohutukawa means "sprinkled by the spray" in Maori.  This is because the trees are found along the coastline.   Many of us will enjoy a picnic on the beach under the shade of a Pohutukawa tree.
