Christmas party
We had had a long day!
Christmas party and carol service day, one of my favourite days of the year, well, one of my favourite evening's, not so sure about the children's party. We went down early to help with the set up, which seemed a good idea, but this meant wrapping all the presents ready for 'Father Christmas' to give away. The poor boys were continually told they could not play with anything as it was for 'other children'. This did include their own toys, which, amazingly, had the most tears when they were told they couldn't play with them.
The boys had an utterly brilliant time at the party, which had face painting and entertainers - one of whom spent a whole lot of time rolling around on the floor with the youngest who gave up walking and rolled around for a while.
I love this picture of them, checking out their face paints - the eldest was a tiger (and got into character roaring at everyone), the youngest had some flowers on his face (quick, for a wriggling toddler).
We then went to the carol service, which is always wonderful. A friend commented as we walked in that the boys had that 'look' that said they weren't going to last long. Amazingly, we got them through it, the eldest was bribed with tractor video's on the iPhone - sat on the floor in a room of over 400 belting out carols.
Home, tired, with boys who were asleep very quickly and went to bed with their face-paint still on.
Some extra photo's today.
