Harvesting Lavender

As I was driving by the Lavender Farm, I noticed this guy harvesting the lavender.  So I stopped and asked if I could take his photo.  He agreed.  What I noticed was that he would grab a handful of lavender, and cut it with a sickle, then place the bundle on the cut plants.  He was on his knees, which would have been most uncomfortable.  By the look of this photo, this patch has nearly been harvested.

I have had a busy day, I have been looking through all my old photograph albums for photos of Betty with the walking group, to be used in the Power Point presentation at her funeral on Tuesday.  I found about 10 nice ones.  After lunch I had to walk 4,000 more steps, so have done that now.  I must say it is VERY windy.  I saw an overturned yacht being towed to shore.  What interested me was 'are the sails still up, and now under the water?'  I didn't see what happened when the boats ended up on the shore.

Another Friday, so another weekend.  I hope yours is a good one.
