Wide angle lenses are dangerous

So I decided to return to Blipfoto with my new toy. I picked up a 10-22 from Canon, and have been having a lot of fun with it. I also grabbed the cheapest tripod I could, and am trying desperately to capture some sunsets in SoCal for the time I have left here. This one is of Malibu from Santa Monica. It needs work, but there were clouds out tonight and I thought I'd try out the new lens on the beach. The color isn't the best, but the clouds are a rarity here so I was happy to experiment. Someday, I'll figure out how to get more depth in there.
