Amaryllis

Amaryllis is a genus of bulbous plants from the narcissus family (Amaryllidaceae), which is endemic in South Africa. The family is named after a shepherdess from the idylls.
A beauty in house and I find it a little wonder that so a beauty can grow out of a bulb/tuber.
