Another day - another choir concert

Today is the Alcester Singers performance of Bach Christmas Oratorio and Haydn St Nicholas Mass.  I sang Bass with Music Anon last night and am singing Tenor today with Alcester Singers which is a bit confusing.

Unfortunately the final rehearsal this afternoon was pretty disastrous

1 The Alto soloist is ill and we couldn't find a replacement.  Our resourceful conductor stepped in to the breech and sang the Alto line while simultaneously trying to conduct us.

2  We Tenors at the back were deafened by the organ and couldn't hear any other parts.  Whats more,  the organ wasn't always in time

3 The church heating wasn't working properly (look at how the organist and his assistant are dressed).   We have been told to wear vests and long johns tonight.

Never mind,  disastrous  final rehearsals are often followed by excellent performances.

We shall see - fingers crossed.
