i happened to hit the cemetery as the annual wreath laying ceremony - 3 gun salutes, taps and then the bagpiper - was beginning.   (my dad is in arlington national cemetery and had all this plus caisson and line of soldiers with raised guns 5 years ago).   wreaths are laid at the graves of all veterans across the country on the same day at the same time ----so noon in DC, 11 in Chicago, 10 in Denver and 9AM here the second Saturday in December, although today is the 3rd one.  all very poignant.
