Divided

Spoilt for choice today.  A bonanza of Wood Blewits occurred which are, in all ways, the best mushrooms out there...unbeatable photogenicity, dye source, good eating and general glimmer of bounteousness in the miserable days of early winter.  However, on the principle that Blips are firstly artistic endeavour and documentary record second the microworld of the stream wins.

Also, pleasingly, discovered an ancient Field Maple in the top Earternmost corner of the wood which is the only one I am aware of in the valley.  It's lived a bit.  Obviously been trimmed off at wall height at some point but then escaped attention while it grew to a good 10 metres.  The bark deeply cracked into rugged scales.
