Calm before the storm

North West today, with a heavy rain and gale force wind warning out for Canterbury. So far although it's very grey and with clouds getting darker by the minute, there is very little wind and no sign of rain.

The birds seem to know something though, where normally there are lots of birds along the water's edge as the tide comes in today there were none, which made me wonder if they'd all got a message, and gone somewhere to shelter.

These gulls all headed off too, shortly after I arrived, so it was one quick snap!
