Antiquated
For lack of anything else to do this morning, we hopped in the car and took a drive to explore Cape Cod off season. It was fun to see empty roads, boarded up summer places, and no crowds -- a far cry from the mayhem during the summer months!
As we were driving out of Provincetown towards Truro, I was struck by this plethora of telephone poles and wires, and it made me wonder why in the 21st Century -- in the Information Age with all its gadgets, digital wonders, satellites, and computers -- we still rely so heavily on this antiquated system of supplying power and telephone service.
