Nueva tortuga.
Meet Sheldon, the new resident of the garden which is beginning to resemble a tortoise sanctuary. He/she is much bigger than the others, and has a smoother shell with nice markings. I found him completely caked in mud and sitting in the back of a trailer, where he must have got to by climbing up the ramp which had been left down. It was a gardener's trailer and I didn't want him to be crushed by machinery or sacks of trimmings, so I introduced him to the garden, and later the dogs, who both greeted him the way dogs do. It was a bitterly cold and rainy evening so I kept him - and Gonzalez who popped up - in cardboard boxes indoors for the night.
