Memories

Ian's Coffee Shop and Turner's News were  located in the Turner Building on a busy corner in Victoria since 1937, but the landmark is now is such a state of disrepair that it has to be demolished.  The coffee shop was renowned for Ian's homemade breakfasts and as a place where people could count on good food any time of day, served with a smile.    G had an appointment, and while I was waiting for him, I went for a walk down to the corner and spotted this poster mounted on one of the walls.  I assume that it's Ian and a waitress.  It's quite sad to see this part of Victoria's history decaying.
I liked the photo of two windows in another location in the extra, but I wanted to record this corner while the building still stands.
It was an early start for us today, leaving just after 5:30 am to catch the first ferry to town.  We both said that we're thankful our commuting days are over and we don't have to catch those early ferries every weekday morning any more.  Once in awhile is okay.  :)
