Arizona Christmas

When I posted the blip of the lit mesh cowboy saguaro, I think there was some doubt that anyone would really put lights on live saguaro and other cactus, needles be damned.   Well, doubt no more.  These lights are on the saguaro and prickly pear in my next door neighbor's yard.  

Bill has been doing this since they moved in about 9 years ago.  Every year I tell him to let me know when he's ready to decorate - and every year I miss him.  This year was no different, with one huge exception.  He was used to the length of his colored lights, which he found no longer worked. Unbeknownst to him, this new strand of white was shorter.  So on his first attempt to string them up he didn't make it all the way to the top.  He had to unwind them and do it a second time.  So this year I had TWO opportunities to watch him and still missed it.  I think he likes teasing me.  Oh, those sneaky Michiganders!
