Turron from Xixona

Turron is made from almonds and honey.......some have various flavourings added....
some are very luxurious, such as Chocolate with Cointreau
The almonds are grown in Alicante province, and the town of Xixona is the main centre for making the Turron.
Most Spanish people will enjoy some Turron over the Christmas and New Year festivities ......
These particular bars of Turron are a Christmas gift, from our local bank......a thank you for banking with them!
.....Banks giving their customers a small gift is a local tradition, that I know is not prevalent in all areas of Spain!
