No exhibition

With my deputy Elliot, I attended a meeting today in the Scottish Parliament. We were having a discussion with Michelle Ballantine MSP about policies affecting children. Lots of informed and informative discussion about how to support professionals to assess and work with children.see extra.

Usually there is an interesting exhibition in the foyer - but today had to resort to the ceiling.

Our main interest is in how information from professionals is collated and presented with recommendations and justifications to children’s hearings. But some interesting discussion too about what children’s panel members might need to be aware of when faced with options.

Lots from us too about what we would like to do to improve the operation of hearings if we had the resources. The business as usual budget would seem to have been increased marginally with any other increase attributed to digital programme consequences. So more to be do on what our options for next year might be.

Afternoon interviewing for the volunteer position of Area Convener in Edinburgh; dealing with some urgent operational issues then an 8pm visit to the hospital.
