......fifty wigeons, a panicking......

This was funny. I counted around fifty wigeons at the side of the Muirton Basin, this afternoon. Unlike mallards, they are flightly birds and will take to the water whenever people or dogs appear. Usually they just bounce into the canal. But today, someone banged a wheelie bin shut and mass panic ensued. I must admit, it did sound like a shot from a gun. The fifty wigeons were all fine.
