Another fine day in Venice. We saw the city from two unusual places, the top of the bell tower of the church on San Giorgio, All quiet here, and what a view of the city. Take the lift up, try to be there on the hour & get the added bonus of the bells striking just inches from your head, The second viewpoint was from the terrace of the large department store on Calle del Fontego where we paid an absolute fortune for the most amazing hot chocolate & cake. The price didn't seem so bad after discovering the viewing point, overlooking the Rialto Bridge.

And some quotes on Venice:

“When I seek another word for ‘music’, I never find any other word than ‘Venice’.”
Friedrich Nietzsche

“There is something so different in Venice from any other place in the world that you leave at once all accustomed habits and everyday sights to enter an enchanted garden.” Mary Shelley

“If I were not King of France, I would choose to be a citizen of Venice.”
Henry III

“Venice is like eating an entire box of chocolate liqueurs in one go.”
Truman Capote
