Spilling the Dam

After prolonged heavy rain the water level behind the dam becomes too high, and the pressure has to be relieved by lowering the spill barriers and releasing some water. It is unusual to see both barriers lowered simultaneously however. The scale can be seen from the size of the two workmen in yellow. They have just finished manually opening another sluice gate from the turbine hall into the area in the bottom left of the picture.
