The day was so beautiful, we went, on a sudden impulse, to a small village further down the Lake, Estrela, that just managed to escape being inundated - the Lake is literally in people's backyards. Utterly peaceful and silent, the water like a mirror, birds making V's everywhere - you can see a couple at the point of this peninsula. You can also see how low the water has gone, from when it was at the base of these trees.

We so need more rain.
