Mincemeat made!
I may give the homemade cookies a miss and the chocolates too, but I did make mincemeat for mince pies this morning. The pastry will be made just before the pies are baked. My recipe is without suet or sugar, but with just the right amount of brandy and grated orange and lemon peel and juice and plenty of spices. I will add some freshly grated apple in the mix before making the pies.
I like to keep some traditions going, even though I do things much more simply now.
