Another day another Squirrel

A busy day rushing here and there.  No time or inclination to take many shots.  So another emergency blip of a squirrel from the window.

Mr Black is enjoying a Monkey nut.  I gather they are monkey nuts while still in their case and peanuts once shelled.  I like the monkey nuts as the squirrels sit and eat them whereas the hazelnuts they take away and bury.

Why do we call them monkey nuts or for that matter peanuts?  They are legumes - members of the pea family and develop under ground.
