The third mile
So, the first extra mile you are asked to go on a project, you do it quite willingly, somehow you know it will be worth the extra effort and will be appreciated. Then you are asked to go an extra mile on another project and you feel, well if I have to I will but I don't appreciate being asked a second time. When the third mile is asked for, it's hard not to feel shat upon. I'm afraid I used a sweary word to an esteemed colleague, mainly because I knew that I was going to have to go that third mile. I couldn't shout at the client so I swore at him, oops! Family is a great soother in these circumstances, N, of course, and hugs from grandchildren whom we briefly babysat for this evening.
