Well, they pushed the boat sleigh out tonight for the Christmas party - my goodness!  Seasonal decorations and children smothered the normally sedate looking Deanery, (home and gardens of the headmaster) now fully festooned and illuminated as faculty and staff, along with families, gathered to celebrate.  Earlier, Santa had been giving out gifts which may be why these younger elves were still on the look out when I arrived - but eventually as the clock tick tocked past their bedtime, the evening mellowed into a more Nat King Cole kind of atmosphere, and we elfin elders ate, drank and made merry.
