Between fen and mountains

Bushing

The wear most often found in a clock is in the pivot holes which sometimes become oval and eventually stop the gear wheels meshing correctly.  The solution is to ream out the hole and inset a bush, a simple procedure but one which must be done exactly for if the new hole is not in exactly the same place, the clock will not work.  Today, I spent the morning at the cafe and we all brought along some extra Christmas treats.  The weather is dank and misty so I built a fire in the afternoon and will toast myself in front of it all evening.
