It's a thingy, but what kind of thingy?

Had a semi-productive day today at work, starting to get into the new project, managed to do a few things I'm skilled at, rather than things I know next to nothing about. Which is good as I can do them, without having to grovel around on Google for a solution in an area that isn't my responsibility.
