Another night time street scene.

Thanks to the continued underfunding of councils the roads around Edinburgh have become patchworks of potholes which would shame a third world country. Only once a full car has disappeared down one do the council lurch into action, which these days involves someone coming round with a bucket of tar, dropping it into the hole and stamping it down. A cheap solution, but it usually lasts about a week.

The only exception has been Mansionhouse Road, which is just as posh as it sounds. The surface was getting a little tired, so it was ripped up and completely re-done.

It looks beautiful. I wonder how many councillors live on that street.
