Winter Solstice

Thoughts on Advent and the Winter Solstice.

' I looked for you.
I waited in the dark in days of deep sorrows .
I called out to you on empty mornings when no light reached me .

I looked for you in the corners an ordinary day until ,in the silence of a frosty dawn ,I found you in the depths of my heart.

And heaven is here now ; in the crackle underfoot of frozen red leaves and the curlew's song. '

And here is my very resilient orchid which has brightened 10 winters with its flowering.
