Dreamy Buttermere

Buttermere holds an abiding fascination for me. It is a haven of tranquility, and also a very beautiful place to be in any weather. I have walked around it many times over the years and have never finished the 4.5 mile circuit without feeling a sense of peacefulness. For me it is the perfect tonic for stress. 

Today was no exception. The low cloud and calm waters gave a dreamy quality to every view. Few people were out and about to enjoy it too.
