Royal icing

I'm not keen on the sweetness of fondant icing and so although I always struggle with getting royal icing to set, I still persevere, usually rushing on Christmas eve!  This year I was organised making it on the 23rd and for the first time I can remember, set overnight!  The finsihed cake is not worth blipping as there is no ribbon, decoration of even a cake board but I'm looking forward to cutting into it on Christmas day!
