Nine Lessons and Carols

Seems strange having Christmas Eve on a Sunday!  We had Sunday Lunch with Mom and Dad as usual except we had different things to eat!  Saving the traditional roast for tomorrow.  I had made a trifle for pudding!  Oh My!  It was a Nigella recipe - the first I've ever done.  Anglo Italian trifle full of Blackcurrant jam, sponge, amaretto biscuits, blackberries, Limoncello, egg and marscapone.  Oh so nice!  Some left for tomorrow.  Dad smiled all the time he was eating it....

Tonight has been the service of nine lessons and carols, complete with projected images onto the apse wall which is curved.  It was nice and the choir did really well.  Christmas can start now. We decided we needed to start on the Booths salad stuff we have bought.  We normally save it until Christmas night but we will never eat it all before we go away if we don't start today!  So we did!  It felt rather naughty - like opening the presents before Christmas Day.
