I've never seen the point of Aperol Spritz as a drink, but I think it works rather well as the focal point of a photograph taken against the backdrop of the sinking sun in Phuket.

We're reaching the conclusion of our time here. L and I did a "motoring tour" of the island yesterday, taking advantage of the fact that we have a hire car. Phuket Old Town is definitely worth another visit. Big Buddha was - well - big. Really big. And the beach in the south that promised tranquility was heaving with a variety of different species of European tourists, including plenty from Russia. Never mind. We found a good place selling smoothies.

After sundown drinks by the sea, the day was concluded with an excellent meal at some rather posh place not too far from here. Christmas 2017, eh!
