Grey Squirrel

Like or Dislike?
It is no fault of the Grey Squirrel itself that it is here in the U.K, it was brought here by mankind. Here they are responsible for the demise of the Red Squirrel, maybe affecting populations of some bird species and the destruction of many trees. Huge sums of money are now being spent to save the Red Squirrel but just over a 100 years ago Reds had a bounty on them for damaging trees and they are just as partial to eggs!!!
If only Greys had not been brought here, I accept that control is necessary, yet i can still enjoy observing their behaviour and find them attractive animals despite their "sins".....They make me smile when I watch them and they also help Willie Wonka in the Nut Sorting Room.
