Spring in the waiting

It was a phenomenally mild Christmas. Some of these Willow catkins were already flowering but the unopened ones are more aesthetically-pleasing.  After faffing about with arty monochrome I decided that the pistachio-toned originals were actually rather tasteful.

There jolly well should be a nice name for a geometric shape comprising a cyclinder with hemispherical ends but, sadly, it seems that officially it's either a 'capsule' or a 'spherocylinder'.
