Vivid red realgar crystals on metallic matrix

I love this stuff! Shame it's had to go on to ebay, but I just have too much of it.

I don't have much idea on the best way to photograph these rocks - am still just clicking off a huge number of shots and hoping some will turn out well. I've bought a cheapo light box to try out, but I quite like the outdoor shots with trees etc blurred in the distant background, as in the realgar blip of a few days ago. And the grey wood on these chairs also seems to go quite well as a background, but holding the rock up against a distant background seems to better highlight the texture and colours.
