A solemn moment

I stopped by the banks of the river Clyde where it passes through Crossford in Lanarkshire. The river was in spate and I wanted to photograph it.

I chose a spot and started taking pics. As I stood there, struck by the immense power of the river, I turned and noticed a memorial plaque on the trunk of a tree behind me and a little posy of flowers tied to the tree. The plaque bore the name of the deceased and the words, " Now at peace".

The knowledge that someone had lost their life at this spot completely changed the moment for me. Time to count my blessings.
