Pillars of Leith

This is my pal Mary who has taught dance for nearly 40 years (I know she doesn't look it, we always qualify matters of age by saying 'we're just bairns', we're only kidding ourselves!)

To the point of the blip: Port of Leith is part of Edinburgh, but only since 1920 and for people born in Leith, they are always Leithers never Edinburgers. South Leith Parish Church is celebrating 400 years and as part of their celebrations they asked Leithers to nominate the people alive or dead who had contributed to the community and people of Leith - Pillars of Leith. There was a great mix of nominees from all walks of life and my friend who has had her dance school in the centre of Leith for nearly 20 years was one of them and thoroughly deserved her silver medal.
