Walking the Wall

Hadrians Wall

We walked part of the Wall - from Housesteads going West.  It is very 'Game of Thrones' up here. Always extremely bleak, very cold and windy. You can just imagine the Roman Legionnaires standing guard and patrolling these heights made stark by the ancient volcanic sills. For a Boxing Day there were quite a few other 'Wall Walkers' out, all obviously trying to wall off the Xmas food excess.

It is the perfect antidote !
