Saving Christmas
With an hour to spare of our (almost*) full family celebration I remembered the Lizzy Shaws hidden away in a cupboard weeks ago. They are a traditional feature and I would have been in trouble had they not appeared.
Illnesses aside it has been a lovely day that started with a lie-in, included a quiet dog walk to the House with Carl and a much livelier one to the park near our house with my brother’s dog, two brothers, one sister in law, one niece and a nephew. More presents exchanged, much feasting and some lovely catching up. Then everyone but my parents left and the survivors (them, me and Anna) settled down with Four Weddings and a Funeral. Haven’t watched it in ages and it has totally stood the test of time. Anna saw it for the first time and loved it.
I started the day slightly wishing we were having a quiet one and am ending it delighted everyone came round. Christmas ticked. New Year here we come.

*illness has swept through the ranks in a way that would make Agatha Christie proud.
