River Darwen, Hoghton Bottoms

Out with the walking group today and it was my turn to lead. A 5 mile walk from Pleasington along the Witton Weaver Way. This is the walk I planned on 2nd June 2012. Of course it has rained rather a lot since then and in parts it was extremely muddy. Still, that's what walking boots are for!

It is quite a varied walk, across fields, along the river and through the woods. The scenery is beautiful. It was lovely along this stretch of the river.
