Snow Pheasant
Lots of wet snow this morning. On my quick walk after lunch I spotted something move in the snowy field. I thought at first that it might be a rabbit but on closer inspection I could see that it was a hen pheasant. She was very low to the ground and I thought she might be sick or injured. As I manoeuvered to get a better shot she launched into the air and over a high hedge - a good sign. She's one of the mates of our cock pheasant which acts like a pet. When he sees me he doesn't fly but walks towards me as I chat to him.
Today's poem is Advice to the Old (Including Myself) by Kay Boyle. http://homecomingwithedge.blogspot.co.uk/2010/02/poem-by-kay-boyle.html
Good advice. :)
