West Lomond

Too cold for any butterflies today!
At the end of Jan is the Devil's Burdens relay over the Lomond Hills, today a friend and I went to do a recce run. I'm doing the final leg over East Lomond, she isn't doing it this year but came for the run.
It was clear and cold with some icy patches on the paths but they were  avoidable and the descent was fine.
By the waterfall (a deviation form the race route) were some magnificent icicles but I didn't stop there. We did pause to chat to a couple of walkers a bit further up (one of whom had done the run in the past and used to be in our club) and plenty of "hellos" to the many people out and a brief stop on the stop for some pics.
We didn't quite get the right route off the top but got down okay and I stopped for this pic of West Lomond - daughter and family were up there today!
Hot chocolate in Falkland and then home for lunch.
I had a wasted trip into town in the afternoon, 2 shops I needed to go to were shut and I forgot what I needed to take back to the 3rd! A quick look in some shops but saw nothing I wanted to buy, even at half price.
