Poorly dishwasher

The dishwasher stopped working today. It made a load of beeping noises and the pump was working. I put into Google Electrolux and beeping and found a possible cause. There is an anti flood mechanism that prevents water going in and turns on the pump. It is triggered by a tray in the bottom of the washer filling with water- for what reason I'm not sure. When the front was removed , lo and behold the tray was full. We followed the directions on the net and drained the tray. This is supposed to reset the antiflood mechanism and the dishwasher is supposed to work correctly now. Tomorrow it will be the test. If the tray immediately refills then we need a new one or an engineer. Fingers crossed. I'll let you know tomorrow.
