Snow is Falling

‘Snow is fallin’,
All around me
Children playin’
Having fun .....’

I have that ear worm by Shakin’ Stevens going round and round in my head as the much heralded snow has started falling here.

His Lordship and I had intended going for a walk to pick up some light bulbs at a lighting centre on the other side of the Meadows, but with a rather wet snow blowing in our faces, we abandoned the attempt to return to the shelter of the Dower House.

Although it is lying on the grass outside, it is melting as it falls on the patio, but I imagine that away from the coast and city centre there will be the normal widespread snow related travel chaos. Perhaps it’s fortunate that so many people have taken extended holidays from work over the Christmas/New Year festivities and don’t need to venture forth. It seems that only Britain amongst the European countries finds this white stuff such a problem.

When cabin fever afflicts me later in the afternoon, I think I may have to test the snow boots.
