Serbian teardrops.
There is not a lot to report from Serbia or Bulgaria, both of which we traversed today. They are countries of great poverty and sadness and the dull drizzly rain we experienced whilst driving seemed to reflect that impression. Stopping to sleep somewhere in Serbia in the camper was a challenge and we finally found a motel where we could park the van and use one of their room's shower. The motel was so run down that no-one else was staying there and the receptionist was dour. We managed to get a smile from her by giving her a bar of Swiss chocolate for her night shift on the desk. Spread happiness with chocolate in the Eastern block.
