pictures at an exhibition

Kansas City has a newly built performing arts center designed by Moshe Safdie. The Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts is home to the symphony, opera, and ballet as well as many other concerts and dramatic performances. We attended the symphony today. This season the program is "highlighting the connection between art and music" and today's offerings did just that. We heard a new work by composer-in-residence, Adam Schoenberg called, Finding Rothko, then Concerto in D Major for Violin and Orchestra, Op. 35 by Tchaikovsky, and finally Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition.
