Down by the river
My birthday... Now even more fiftyish... At least I got some new socks. A wet day, and still flooding across many routes out of the village. Train to Cambridge, by which time the rain had stopped, but chilly. Taxi to the Fitzwilliam Museum - Degas and Codebreakers - wandered through town to the Mitre Pub for lunch, then a spot of shopping, particularly in Heffers, which is one of my favourite bookshops, and where we launched our Mission:Explore Food book 5 years back. Checked into the Hilton with a view across the River Cam towards Darwin College. Out later, and meal in Brown's with a pianist playing standards all evening.
